How to download and install CUBIQ BI Desktop

CUBIQ BI Desktop gives you access to your data and helps you query, analyze and visualize your insights. It allows offline access to your data with the help of data cubes. Here is how to install it.

Download

You can download the installation package here. The downloaded file can be placed in any location on your desktop. Once the file is downloaded, you can run it to initiate the installation process.

Installation procedure

The downloaded installation bundle includes all prerequisites needed to install and run CUBIQ Desktop. Therefore the installer executes series of steps depending on your current setup and existing software installed.

Installation prerequisites

  • .NET Framework 4.5+
  • Microsoft Analysis Services OLEDB Provider

If you do not have the necessary prerequisites already installed, the installer will initiate an installation step for the two components above. You will have to accept the license agreements and click through the wizards to complete all steps.

      

Installation of CUBIQ Desktop

After the prerequisites are successfully installed, the installer will initiate the actual CUBIQ Desktop software install.

After accepting the license agreement you will be able to choose the installation type and change various details. In most cases, the defaults provided will be adequate. The installation process should only take about a minute.

      

After the installation process completes successfully you will be able to launch CUBIQ via its shortcut on your desktop or programs.

   

After startup ap CUBIQ Desktop for the first time, you will be prompted to log in or signup for an account.

Login and signup

While CUBIQ Desktop allows for offline access and works without an internet connection – you must be authenticated (logged in) in order to use the application and access the cubes and associated metadata. This will require an internet connection and an existing account. If you do not have an account you can simply signup using this link: https://app.cubiq.io/signup or using the “New User? Forgot Password?” link directly on the login screen.

You will be prompted for an email address and password along with some additional information:

Once signup is complete you will be redirected to the CUBIQ Web application. You can find out more about how to get started with CUBIQ Web here.

Using the chosen account information you can now login into the desktop application and start using CUBIQ Desktop.
